Despite the dreary weather (typical Bank Holiday!), no fewer than 27 people attended our May meeting, including two new guests – welcome to Simon and Kevin, who is bringing a layout to our show in October. The West Midlands contingent was not held up as before by problems on the motorways, and Julien Webb was able to provide useful information on forthcoming events and exhibitions.
As usual, Martyn Davies brought an increasingly large range of 009 items from Hereford Model Centre for sale at very reasonable prices. The test tracks were home to a variety of locos and rolling stock, as ever.
The planning for our show in Tewkesbury in October is now in full swing and many new additions have been made to the show’s website, see www.narrowgaugetewkesbury.co.uk for the latest updates and additional information. We have reached the limit on the number of layouts we can accommodate but we may still be short of a trader or two.
You are assured of a warm welcome at our meetings, with cake and coffee, in the company of like-minded narrow-gauge enthusiasts. We meet on the last Monday of the month, our next meetings being on 26 June and 31 July starting at 19.30 hours at Twyning village hall near Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, GL20 6DF.
